My plate is overflowing with activities.
Sorry for the neglect of this blog and things I have promised some of you I would do.
Kaj and I before having dinner with his parents and grandmother at the Drake.
Wish I had time to tell you all exactly what I am doing.
But I just got out of Macroeconomics, time to go teach violin at Hibbard Elementary for two hours, run, soccer game, afterward Friday Night Homeless Ministries until wee hours of the morning.

Liebe ist.
Mom and I had a really nice time in Chicago with Kaj.
Jazz fest, Mediterranean food.
Time with Kaj's parents was really awesome too.
The passed week has been super active.
Biking a lot, lake a couple times, downtown, cafes, class, orchestra.
It's 9:45 and I am calling it a night.
Tomorrow I give a speech in my Public Speaking class.
It is an "introduction" of myself.
I'm going to talk about Locks of Love.
Here are some pictures because not many words are coming to me right now:
Kaj and I at Critical Mass.
Friends at Epic Burger.
Because according to Chicago Magazine it is one of the top 30 places to get a burger!
We canoed down the Chicago river!

Me
Erin
Drank hot coffee beneath the Sears Tower.. still in the canoe.
Kaj and I.
Went south to Roosevelt, then back up towards the Navy Pier.
Erin and I's desks.
At Jazz Festival.
:)
Time to hit the hay.

"Sleep don't weep."
Here: http://www.flickr.com/hannahjoyy
First day of school was successful.
Spent time in the practice halls, went to class, ran, did my homework, had bubble tea really late at night, watched the first episode of Band of Brothers.
Today is Stats class and chair auditions.
Tonight Erin and I are having a guacamole party in our room.
It is a sixth floor reunion. [We lived on the sixth floor of Anderson last year.]
The Trask family is in my thoughts day in and day out.
Goal: Become a pilgrim not a tourist in my faith.

All nighters.
Last year I only pulled one all-nighter.
Not for homework but because a friend and I stayed up all night talking.
Last night was my second.
Classes have yet to start so it was not due to homework.
Erin and I were warned about how social Burgh was, but I think we underestimated HOW SOCIAL BURGH IS.
Went to bed just passed ten hoping to get up and run before church.
But the only sleep I got was 2:08 to 2:20.
The first church I went to last year was North Park Covenant.
And this year it will be my first again!
[Kaj's church.]

"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other's gold."
Thanks to Aunt Laura, Uncle Brad and grandfather I am going to rekindle my Blog postings.
[At least an attempt.]
Well, I am back in Chicago land!
This means my freshman year and a summer of three + months at home is behind me.
Both a success in their own ways.
Last year I only received one B, the rest of the grades I will leave up to you to decide. :)
Enjoyed the orchestra second semester, very much.
Went on many "city" runs with Erin [my roommate].
Began to hang out with a whole new group of friends [insert: Kaj & Mindy].
This summer I worked between 28 hours and 45 hours a week at Supersonic Music.
The work we got done there this summer was unbelievable.
Remodeling, moving our warehouse into our main store in Topeka, new products hitting it off really well.
I love [and miss] my Supersonic Family.
These passed three or so years I have worked hard, and given myself nice rewards.
Usually cameras, my computer, my trip to Germany.. and this year it was another camera!
I bought a Canon XSi.
Not the cream of the crop... but it's not the camera, it's the eyes behind it, right??
I had to get to know it very quickly because not even a week later I flew out to Tennessee where I shot 6,000+ pictures for the youth conference CHIC. [http://www.chic2009.org/]
For a few of my favorites I have them up on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2022601&id=1193340163&l=48710d13a4
( you don't NEED Facebook to look at that album, it is a public link.)
This year has a lot in store for me.
No longer have the freshman stigma, that will help.
Classes are centered more towards my degree (Advertising Design).
And orchestra/lessons are going to ROCK!
Another great investment this summer was a new violin and bow!
Saying it's "awesome" is such an understatement.
Spent quality time with Topeka friends this summer too.
I miss the tight knit group we had.
But I guess this is what they call growing up and growing apart.
Pictures from my summer:
Erin and I at the end of the school year movin' out.
Jonathan graduated from K-State with his Masters.
Matthew graduated from Bethel with his undergrad.
Root family on the fourth.
[minus the boys.]
My Darby girl. [Whippet/Lab mix]
Kaj's visit to Topeka.
After our trip on the train at the WORLD FAMOUS TOPEKA ZOO.
That same weekend we saw UP and learned how to put up hot air balloons.
We didn't get to go up other than 20 feet and we were tethered to a truck. Bummer.
New bike! Schwinn Varsity.
[Mindy is in the background lookin' studious.
This is in Kaj's backyard when I went to visit Chicago/him this summer.]
Kaj and I in Grant Park for free dance lessons.
Time to read grandfather's Kindle, then head to bed.
Over 'n out.

Photostreaming.
Hi!
[been a little while]
I just returned late last night from a weekend adventure to Kansas with my grandparents.
It was a teaser before my actual spring break [next week].
That drive seems a lot easier when you have a lot on your mind, and when you actually drive it.
I really enjoyed getting to spend all that casual time with grandmother and grandfather in the car.
This Friday Melissa and Katie are driving up to spend Friday night/Saturday here in Chicago with Erin and I!
Then we will be driving back to good ol' Kansas on Sunday morning.
[Melissa and Katie do not have spring break yet so they have to return to classes on Monday.]
Spring break I assume will mean working at Supersonic, sleeping, and hanging out with my parents.
I am not complaining.
So far this semester has been successful, besides math.
I am taking Introduction to Theology, German II, Concepts & Structures, 2D Art and 3D Art.
I have also joined the North Park orchestra.
Which is a lot of fun and a lot of hard work.
I am still floating around churches.
Lately it has been Willow Chicago.
I think they have a lot of great opportunities and missions.
But I am unsure if it is what I want as a "Chicago church home".
[I say that because we all know Brookwood is my church home.]
Finished my "flickr" site.
Not that there was a lot to do, other than load pictures and put in a brief description.
Here is the link:

They are unorganized, because I have yet to figure out how to organize them. :)
There is my quick update from being absent for three months.
